A couple of days ago we baked some delicious Chocolate Mummy Cookies for Halloween. This will make a great treat for your little ones on Halloween. Here is what you need for the ingredients.
1 package of sugar cookie mix
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
1/3 cup of butter
1 egg
2 tablespoons of flour
1/4 cup of chocolate chips
gingerbread men or girl cookie cutters
1 cup of white icing
quart size ziploc bags
Now, empty the sugar cookie mix into a bowl and add the cocoa powder, flour, egg and butter. Mix until you get a nice dough. Then, begin to roll out your dough to around a 1/4 of a inch thick. Next, take your cookie cutter and begin to cut out the mummies and place them on an ungreased baking sheet. Finally, place two chocolate chips for the eyes and one for the belly button, LOL. Place the cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven and bake for 7 to 9 minutes.
When the cookies are ready take them out of the oven and let them cool off. When the cookies are all cooled off. Place your white icing in the ziploc bag and snip a tiny hole in the corner of the bag. Then, begin to pipe out horizontal and slightly diagonal lines over your mummy to simulate the mummy wraps. Once finished, you can enjoy your delicious Show Me Mama Halloween Mummy Cookies.

I love this post! Its so cute. And I love that Sophia is so involved and loves becomes involved. It is so important for kids to start cooking at a young age. Did you know that kids that cook are more aware of the nutrients in their food and are more likely to eat healthy?
That is why I work with Monday Campaigns, a non-profit that promotes health initiatives. My favorite initiative is The Kids Cook Monday which encourages kids to cook and eat with their families every Monday. We would love for you to write a weekly blog for us every Monday cooking with Sophia! Please email me if you are interested TheKidsCookMonday@gmail.com and visit our website to learn about the many benefits of The Kids Cook Monday http://www.healthymonday.org/the-kids-cook-monday/
