Oh, my where does the time go. With a daughter in school and all her school and other hobbies outside of the home, you can imagine where all my time goes. It sure has been a long time that I have did some creative activity on my blog, but not to worry I am back in full motion.
Since, Halloween is just around the corner, I wanted to do something fun and out of the ordinary. So, I asked my lovely daughter Sophia, what she wanted to do for Halloween. She was talking for a week now about doing some creative face painting art on her face but we never got around to it.
Now, a week ago we visited her grandparents house and her aunt was there as well. Sophia mentioned to her aunt what she wanted and off they went to got some face painting supplies. Sophia had the biggest smile ever.
Let’s begin with the supplies you need:
- Face painting kit (Find it at any Halloween shop)
- Towels (lots of of them, because it is a very messy process)
- Hair color Spray (Any color you desire, Sophia got pink)
- Hairband (to put your hair up in a bun while painting your face)
NOTE: Please, read instructions carefully when applying face painting supplies and/or hair color spray on young children.
Well, since Sophia and I were the participants in the face painting experience, my dear husband was the face painter that would do his magic on our faces. I was the first to go so Sophia could see how it all will look like. We decided to do my hair first and went in the backyard to spray the washable hair color on my hair. Oh my, what a surprise when I came back inside and looked in the mirror. Yes, my hair was totally pink and Sophia had fun with it.
Now, it was time to apply the face paint. I thought my husband would follow the direction of the images on the supply kit, but he of course wanted to do his own art work and also have fun with. Not knowing how I looked like, Sophia was just snapping pictures of it all. As I was closing my eyes, I suddenly heard a big laugh out of nowhere and it was my husband and Sophia laughing so loud that I wanted to see what they were laughing about. Just one look in the mirror made me realize what have you done. I looked like a mixture between a funny and a scary clown. It was fun though, the look on their face made me laugh.
Now, it was Sophia’s turn. As calm as she could be waiting patiently to see herself in the mirror. Here face lit up when she saw a beautiful crown was painted on her forehead. She was enjoying the entire process. She wanted her hair to be sprayed as well and with her eyes closed and covered it was sprayed and voila she looked lovely. We took some wonderful photo’s and enjoyed the day scaring the neighbors outside LOL.Now, it is your turn to have fun with your face painting supplies. Be creative and have fun with it. Halloween comes once a year, so make it a fun time for you and your family especially for the kids.
Let me know if you have ever done face painting and what character did you happen to be? It would be fun to read. Until next time!
Sincerely,
