Is that time of year again, where we all celebrate the wonderful day called “Thanksgiving”. I personally love this day because it reminds me each and every day what I am thankful for.
- The gift of each new day and to be able to be with my family each and every day
- A family that lives close by and those that are not, I can easily talk to over the phone
- A husband who adores me and tells me each and every day that it will be okay
- My adorable loving children who cheer me up each and every day
- The new and old friends I meet each day.
Each year we spend Thanksgiving with family and it is always a wonderful time because everyone gets to have a good time and enjoy themselves. However, this year we will spend Thanksgiving with the family a week early do to schedules. We are looking forward to it, especially the kids. Now, on Thanksgiving my husband really takes his time to prepare the Turkey. As always I can see his face light up when he comes home with a massive Butterball Turkey. They are really tender and easy to prepare. My husband loves to prepare the Turkey a day in advance, so he can let it sit and marinate with all the seasonings. I love when he does that because, the Turkey tends to taste so much better and you can taste the seasonings all over the Turkey. This year I asked my husband to deep fry the Turkey, so hopefully he will have time to do that, we’ll see. Which ever way he chooses, I can’t wait to taste my husband’s delicious ButterBall Turkey again. We tend to have a lot of leftovers turkey, so we can eat if over several days.
Here are some Turkey food ideas/tips on what you can do to use all your turkey over several days:
- Make a delicious Turkey Soup
- Make a Turkey Sandwich
- Make a Turkey Salad
- Make a Turkey Friend Rice
There are so many things you can make with your leftover Turkey, but these are some that I always do. This way we can eat it all within a week. There is nothing that Butterball can’t answer, so if you need some answer on any particular recipe you want to make, then just “Butterball it” at Butterball.com. It will help you with all of your Holiday cooking needs and a great way to start the Holidays. With their 30+ years of wisdom from the experts at the Butterball Turkey Talk-line, you know when you “Butterball It” you will get the best advice. So, what are you waiting for, hurry and get yourself a Butterball Turkey.

I never thought to marinate a day before-hand, great tip! I’ll try it this year.
I’ve actually never been in charge of cooking the turkey! Unfortunately, I’m usually away from my family during the holidays, so I just go out to eat.
Oh yeah, my email address is: krystal3733 [at] gmail [dot] com
We always make turkey soup and sandwich with out leftovers!
I make my turkey in the oven. I cover it with foil, and baste it throughout the day. I take the foil off about an hour or so before it’s done cooking,to get that nice crispy skin.

I usually just cook it in the roasting pan and put Crisco on it to keep it moist, but I’m thinking this year I’m going to use a roasting bag so I don’t have to constantly keep basting it.
I’m pretty traditional when making turkey. I brine it in saltwater, baste it with lots of butter, put a cut up onion in the cavity, then throw it in the oven. I don’t open the oven once until about a half an hour before the turkey should be done.

I use a cooking bag for my turkey and it turns out delish. I start making candy tomorrow and that helps to make our family Thanksgiving more special. Yum!

We fry our turkey. We love the flavor.
We first start cooking our Turkey by using Roasting Bags (makes clean up a lot easier and helps keep the Turkey moist). We roast our Turkey until its Golden Brown.

I make my turkey in the oven tightly wrapped in tin foil. I make fresh sweet potatoes in the crock pot, you put them in with the toppings and forget about them until they are done.
