She watches all the American Girl movies and will tell you everything about each of the main characters in the movies. We have a store in the mall close to us and each time we go to the mall, she has the biggest smile on her face. Here is a little background about her: She is American Girl’s newest BeForever character Maryellen Larkin an energetic and optimistic girl who follows her heart instead of the crowd. Depicting an era that gave rise to tremendous growth and change in America, Maryellen’s products and stories have an intergenerational appeal that is sure to be a hit with girls, moms, and grandmas!
Maryellen is from the 1950s time period and is dressed in a beautiful 50’s elegant striped sundress with grossgrain ribbon on the front side of the dress. The dress flows very smoothly down her body. She can wear it during the summer time and add a little sweater over it during the colder months.
For an even classical look, Maryellen adds a little touch to the dress by wearing a lovely crochet shrug which is also monogrammed with her initial M on it. It is easy to put on and to take off.
Not only will you notice her gorgeous strawberry-blond hair from a distance but she will stand out even more with her lovely mint green gross grain bow attached to her high pony tail. With some loose curls and simple flowing bangs down her face really finishes Maryellen’s look.
Her Mary Jane style shoes with velcro on the side are the perfect addition to complete her authentic 1950’s outfit. It is a look that will be memorable to all AG fans. She is 18 inches in height and is perfect to carry around just about anywhere. She also comes with a paperback book titled The One and Only. It is the first novel-length volume of Maryellen’s classic series by Valerie Tripp.
