Whoever said that we stop reading when it is summer? Well, not me. That doesn’t occur in my home. I believe that when you read at least 20 minutes a day to kids, they will develop into well skilled readers. Plus, it brings you closer to your kids while they are learning a great lesson. 

Now, let’s get to this wonderful book, “Benji and The Giant Kite”, by author Alan C. Fox and illustrated by Eefje Kuijl. When I first saw the book, I was literally captivated by the vibrant illustrations in the children’s book. The colors are eye catchy and the scenery in every location is stunning to look at. Picture books provide parents with opportunities to start discussion questions about what is on the page. It definitely will keep your kids entertained for story time.

Benji is an adorable little boy who is fascinated by kites. He really wants to get a new kite, however he doesn’t have the money to buy one. Luckily, his mother comes up with a wonderful idea for him to earn some money. Working hard for something shows anyone to value what they have. It builds confidence, self worth, and positive a self-esteem. This story provides a great moral value that every child should acquire.

While reading this book to my son I know he learned a great moral lesson, and that nothing comes easy by just twinkling your hands like a magician.
