I honestly have to admit that Social Distancing felt a little bit like an extended Spring break vacation. However, once it was announced publicly that we have to STAY HOME it seem Spring break may turn into an early Summer vacation. I am trying to keep a regular schedule, where the kids do their chores, homework assignments, and still do their extracurricular activities such as soccer practice in the backyard. We have been cooking a lot more lately, watching movies, playing board games every night, and taking the dogs for a mini walk in the front yard (Ha!Ha!)
However, as this STAY AT HOME order keeps going on it can be a little claustrophobic at times so we try to get some fresh air and some sunlight on our faces. One of my favorite things to do each day is waking up earlier than the kids, to enjoy a nice long quite bath. Then, I eat a delicious breakfast (pancakes and blackberries made by husband), and enjoy the company of my two little fur babies (Charlotte and Chanel) while sitting on the patio. Once that’s done with, I am ready to take on the world and of course my kids. Keeping a regular schedule as much as possible is my priority and this will keep me physically, emotionally and mentally stable.
Tips on how to Relax and Maintain a Healthy Schedule
- Starting your day off by taking a nice long Bath
- Dress the same way you did before Social Distancing (Keep the same routine)
- Eat and cook Healthy meals (My favorite vegetable is spinach)
- Enjoy some great family movie nights (popcorn is definitely a plus)
- Still bored, try to do some Spring Cleaning (done that and it keeps me busy)
- Making Smoothies for the kids is always on our list
- Get some vitamin D inside of you and your family
- Keep active and do some light workout activities
- Reading is always my best friend, so grab yourself a fun book to read
- Treat yourself with a Spa Day (facial, at home manicure and pedicure)
- Take a drive around the neighborhood with your kids and or dogs
