I can’t hardly believe that Thanksgiving is next week. Yes, time goes by really fast, but what could be better than to spend it celebrating with family and friends. As I celebrate Thanksgiving I always look back and ask myself this question: What am I Thankful for? Well, my answer is “I am thankful for waking up each morning and spending time with my family. That is why I can’t wait for next Thursday.
I love how on Thanksgiving day, the delicious aroma of Turkey flows throughout the entire house. Then everyone is helping out in the kitchen making various types of dishes, from stuffing all the way to the scrumptious sweet potato pie. Then, you would hear the laughs coming from the living room. You really feel like you are surrounded by happiness. I love sitting around a table and chatting away with family, and eating all the wonderful food. My favorite way of having Turkey is a Cajun deep fried one, and I love to soak my potatoes with gravy. That really makes it complete. Now, what do you do with all your left over Turkey? Well, we usually make a big pot of delicious spicy Turkey soap and of course you can’t forget the turkey sandwiches. That will definitely make feel warm and cozy inside. Thanksgiving is definitely a day to remember in my book.

Las year was my first year to brine the turkey. I’m going to brine it again this year, and then I may or may not use an oven bag to seal in even more moisture. I’ll be cooking the biggest turkey of my life this year, b/c i need a 22 pound bird! Yikes!

We always spend the holiday with my grandparents – we try cooking the turkey all different ways! Big fan of fried!
Hi Monique. Our tradition is always having everyone’s favorite dishes. Other then that our family thanksgivings are anything but tradition. My side of the family spread out over different states and he only has a Mother left and she is in the hospital. But there is always something to be grateful for with or without a big celebrations.
I always prepare my in the oven. Very traditional.

I like to prepare my Thanksgiving turkey the night and usually baste it with a small amount of orange juice. The acid from the orange juice helps tenderize the turkey.

My favorite part about thanksgiving is just to get together with family! It’s hard seeing everyone since we don’t live that close and it’s the one thing I look forward to year after year. We always play games when we get together. It’s fun times!

Every year we make sugar cookies on Thanksgiving day {after we have eaten of course so we are not tempted to eat the dough or fresh cookies!} so we can freeze them for our big Christmas party. I don’t think we have missed a year since I was about 5!

I put the turkey in before going to work that day and let my husband keep an eye on it until I get home 🙂 I usually rub some poultry seasoning and put a stick of butter inside with some celery and garlic

My favorite holiday traditon is to watch the Macy’s parade on television. I always watched it with my Grandfather but now I watch it with my kids.
For Thanksgiving the family like to come over and cook a big meals. We make turkey and ham along with other dishes that re devoured during dinner. We all chat, eat and enjoy each others company.

I cook my turkey in chicken broth and roast it in the oven. I always cut an orange in 1/2 and place it inside the turkey as well..Keeps it moist!
