Top 5 Thanksgiving Desserts!

One thing I especially love about Thanksgiving or any big holiday event, is the desserts. There is always a table or section of the countertop devoted to sweet treats. I can’t help myself, but to constantly stroll by and browse the delectable delights. MMmmmm! So today I am going to tell you about my Top 5 Thanksgiving desserts.

Sweet Potato Casserole

#5. Sweet Potato Casserole – I know it is not technically not a dessert, but come on; cinnamon, pecans, sweet potatoes, and marshmallows. It sure sounds like a dessert. I always make sure my Sweet Potato Casserole is cornered off on my plate so nothing else touches it. (Gourmet Sweet Potatoes from Allrecipes.com

Seven Layer Bars

#4. Seven Layer Bars – These bars are so sweet and ooey-gooey.  They are full of chocolate, butterscotch, walnuts and my oh so favorite coconut. I can snack on this plain or heating it up a little and putting it on vanilla ice cream. (Seven Layer Bars from Allrecipes.com)

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

#3. Apple Pie – Apple Pie seems to make it on to every dessert table, no matter what time of the year it is. It’s tart, cinnamon-sweet and goes great with vanilla ice cream. And since it is apples, you at least feel like it is a healthy dessert. (Grandma Ople’s Apple Pie from Allrecipes.com)

Pecan Pie V

#2. Pecan Pie – Living in Texas, we have plenty of pecans, so this always shows up on the dessert table I absolutely love it, especially when it’s warm and with a dollop of whip cream or ice vanilla ice cream. It’s so sweet and crunchy and delicious. (Pecan Pie V from Allrecipes.com)

Libby's Famous Pumpkin Pie

#1. Pumpkin Pie – Yes, Pumpkin Pie, the dessert most associated with Thanksgiving. Honestly, Thanksgiving is the only tie I see this dessert around. That is why I made it number one. It is creamy, just a little spicy and completely delicious. I especially love a slice with a big dollop of whip cream on top (Libby’s Famous Pumpkin Pie from Allrecipes.com).

Yes, those are my top five Thanksgiving desserts.  I would love to know what some of your favorite desserts are, so feel free to share them with me.

Now, I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,

I’ve never even heard of Sweet Potato Casserole before, but I think it would definitely be a hit! It’s got a little something everyone likes. I’m not sure about the marshmallows, might swap em for whipped cream :p yumm.
