Sweet “Valerie” Valentine’s Girl

Wow, I can’t believe that Valentine’s day is almost here. Time goes by so fast when your having fun.  So now I want to show you another Valentine’s craft idea. This is Sophia’s creation and I thought that was brilliant and joined in on the fun. Let us begin shall we.

Supplies:

• Bright Pink Poster Board Paper
• Construction Paper (Red and Pink)
• Felt ( Pink and white
• Glue stick
• Hot Glue (Adult use only)
• Lace
• Stickers
• Streamers (Pink)
• Glitter (Red)
• Flower Pedals
• Scissors
• Ribbon
• Liquid Glue

Sophia wanted to make a Valentine’s Girl, and her name is Valerie.  LOL. First, take your pink poster board and cut out a big heart shape.  Turn the heart around and use your hot glue (adult use only) to attach the lace to the back. Reach for your glue stick, and spread it around the lace then take your pink streamers and press it gently over the glue. This will give it that lovely ruffle look. Sophia just loved doing this part. It made her so happy. Now, it was time to pour some liquid glue over the attached streamer. Once we are done, we took our red glitter and gently sprinkled that over the streamers.

Now it was time to make the eyes and mouth for Valerie. We cut out several small heart shapes from the red and pink construction paper.  Then we glued them on top of one another to make a circle shape. Continue the same process to complete the other eye. Next, it is time to cut a circle shape out of the white felt. Glue each felt piece on top of both heart shape eyes. Then reach for your heart stickers and place them on top of the felt. At the top of the big heart shape place a small red heart shape in the center. Glue a nice flower stick on top of the heart shape and top it off with a nice Valentine’s sticker.

With the pink heart shapes you create Valerie’s mouth and accessorize it with more lovely stickers. The flower petals will end up being Valerie’s eyebrows. Now, it was time to trace Sophia’s hands and feet. Attach these to the heart to make Valerie’s hands and feet. Sophia wanted ballerina shoes and bracelets for her, so Mama had to create those as well.

I used the pink felt to create the ballerina shoes and used the pink streamers to make Valerie’s bracelets. Then we decorated them both with flower stickers. Now it was time to add her flower nose and create a loop out of ribbon to hang Valerie. Voila! We have created the sweetest Valentine’s girl, Sophia named “Valerie”.  Now it was time to hang her on Sophia’s bedroom door.  She just loves her Valentine’s Girl.
