Holiday Gift Guide: HarperCollins’s children’s & Zonderkidz Book giveaway-CLOSED

December 16, 2011

As I said it before, I love reading books for my daughter and she loves to read as well. If we ever miss a day,she will remind you to read another book for her to make up for the day before. We were so lucky enough review a few wonderful books from Zondervan.

The first book is Song of the Stars, A Christmas Story, written by Sally Lloyd-Jones, and paintings by Allison Joy. All the animals are gathering and shouting and talking about the coming of the newborn king. Sheep tell their young while angels sing to the shepherds of the miracle child. It is a wonderful book about the joy and excitement of Christmas and the birth of Jesus. The book is beautifully painted and very nice to read.

S is for Snowman is written by Kathy-jo Wargin, and illustrated by Richard Johnson. It is all about fun wintertime activities set in rhyme, in alphabetical order to cure the winter blues. The book will have you sipping hot chocolate, making snow angels, baking cookies and even knitting a quilt. S is for Snowman is an exciting book with fun ideas and activities for both children and adults too.

Next is Goodnight Angels by Melody Carlson, with pictures by Sophie Allsop. The story is told in rhyme and is about a little boy who says goodnight to everyone around him. From his friends, to the birds, butterflies, wagon, dog and more, this little boy makes sure he tells everybody goodnight before his prayers. Goodnight Angels is beautifully illustrated and fun to read. It will make a perfect night time story for the little ones.

Christmas is on the way and so are The Berenstain Bears, as they Get Ready for Christmas, written by Jan and Mike Berenstain. This is a lift-the-flap book, so it is full of wonderful surprises for your little one to see. The Berenstain Bears are looking for their lost  beautiful collection of Christmas figurines for their Nativity scene. Lift all the flaps and help them find all of the ornaments so they can make their Christmas special.

Win:  There will be 4 winners!  One winner will receive a copy of the Song of the Stars, A Christmas Story book, second winner will receive a copy of  S is for Snowman book, third winner will receive a copy of the Goodnight Angels book and forth winner will receive a copy of the Get Ready for Christmas book.

The illustrations in Song of the Stars, A Christmas Story look gorgeous! We’d love to add it to our Christmas book collection. I’d also to share the Zonderkidz book, “The 12 Days of Christmas: The Story Behind a Favorite Christmas Song” with my kids.
