Rodeo Outfit

February 25, 2012

I am not sure if you all are getting ready for the Rodeo, but we are all excited about it down here. The other day, we had a chance to see  the Rodeo Trail Ride in our area and it was pretty cool to see all the cowboys and cowgirls. Now, when Sophia came home from school, she mentioned that she had to wear a western outfit on Friday.  She was all excited about it and wanted me to make her an outfit to wear for “Go Western Day” at school.

Now I had to figure out what I had in the house to make her something cute and comfortable for school. I went in her closet and  found an old pillow case dress that was a little too small for her to wear. So I decided to make it into a skirt. Then, I found a blank shirt that she had in her closet and made a western applique of a cowboy hat. Voila. We had an outfit for her. I placed a bandana style ribbon in her hair to finish the outfit.

Believe me, it was quick and easy to come up with and she had a great “Go Western Day” at her elementary.

Hope you all like her outfit.  Enjoy!

Sincerely,

Can you tell me what pattern you are using for the skirt?

Oh, I did not use a pattern. I pretty much measured my daughter waist and doubled the size. So, let’s say you have a waist measurement of 23 inches x 2 = 46 inches. So, that will be the waist measurement and you will insert the elastic through the waist band. I think I will end up making a tutorial, so you will have a better idea. Hope that helps. These skirts are pretty easy to make.
