December 20, 2012

Do you have a child that loves to draw and paint?  If your answer is “YES” then please read further. I totally adore every little art project my daughter makes and I save each and every project of hers. I have an entire wall covered with all her art projects and have a entire bag full of more of amazing work. And now, I found a great book that will allow me to preserve my little one’s art work.

This book is called: Creating Children’s Artwork Quilts by Shannon Gingrich Shirley. Now don’t be scared when you read the word quilts. This book is a simple, fun and most of all a do it yourself quilting book that will allow you to keep all your child’s artwork visible and easy to admire. All their artwork will be well preserved by incorporating it into quilts and other fibre art projects. There are so many ways to use these love quilts by hanging against the wall, or you can wrap your little one with it while she is sleeping.

Chapters include artwork selection, techniques, combining multiple pieces of art, product lists, and a glossary of terms. A gallery of completed works will inspire your own creative ideas. Instruction for both novice and seasoned quilters is provided. and there are 224 color images in the book.   Creating Children’s Artwork Quilts  available at Amazon

This would also be a great Christmas or other special occasion gift.
