Daddy’s Homemade Chocolate Cake

September 21, 2013

Sometimes a mother needs to have a little free time. As I was doing my own stuff away from the kids, Daddy took over and decided to have some fun baking with the kids.

He decided to bake a chocolate cake with the kids, and Sophia was just happy as a button. As they were putting all the ingredients together they realized that they did not have any cocoa on hand in order to make the homemade frosting. So he put everyone in the car and headed to the grocery store to pick some up. They returned home and resumed making the cake. The cake was now cool, ready for frosting.

Sophia loves frosting and loves to mix all the ingredients together, so daddy let her handle that part nicely.  While Sophia was mixing the frosting, the mixer was making a loud noise and William was trying to make an even louder noise than the mixer.  It sure was a loud house for a second, but the frosting continued without any interruptions. Once the chocolate frosting was whipped up, daddy started to apply the frosting evenly over the cake.  The texture of the frosting was buttery, fluffy and rich.  Sophia just took a taste of it and said it was so delicious.  Can’t you see her smiley face.

After we, had our salad and dinner, it was time to cut a slice of Daddy’s yummy cake and believe me it was indeed delicious.  Love, love the rich flavor and it was absolutely divine.

Until next time for fun and exciting topics.
