Yummy Kawaii Bento Book

November 1, 2015

After reading through the book Yummy Kawaii Bento: Preparing Adorable Meals for Adorable Kids by Li Ming Lee, I can finally  say that my kids will now enjoy their meals even more. The cover of the book makes you want to stop what your doing and immediately start creating  one of their delicious designs and recipes.

Yummy Kawaii Bento: Preparing Adorable Meals for Adorable Kids by Li Ming Lee, has just about everything in it from starting with an introduction of Bento, showing you various food art/design tutorials, and sharing some of their wonderful Bento recipes.

If your are not sure what Bento is well here is your answer.  It is a meal packed in a box. Making a Bento allows you to be creative and design the most adorable meals that your little ones will really enjoy and hey it’s also nice to look at too…maybe for a little bit right before you eat it.  The book has rice-based and bread-based Bento recipes and a variety of delicious salads.  These tutorials give you step by step instructions along with clear visual images, what supplies you will need, plus how to prepare your Bento boxes.  I am a visual person, so I really like to go back and forth by looking at the images and  reading the instructions. The book gives great images on preparation to keep you on the right track when preparing Bento boxes.

The book has seasonal Bento food art recipes for all occasions. Since Halloween is just around the corner, my daughter already requested for me to make her one of their adorable “Spooky Halloween” Bento box to take to school.  Even though she loves all the foot art and recipes, her favorite one she likes would be the “Baby Inari Shush” bento box. She loves those cute babies wrapped in a blanket.

Not only are these Bento boxes fun, creative, and enjoyable to watch, but they are also healthy as well. They also provide you with some dinner recipes for the whole family to enjoy. So, why not entice your little ones with one of these yummy balanced lunches everyday? You don’t have to make the same sandwich over and over again. This book gives you plenty of ideas to make your child’s lunch or dinner exciting and enjoyable to eat.  No More boring sandwiches and meals.

Here are few recipes that I will definitely try :

Hot Dog Bunnies
