Holiday Gift Guide: Children’s Books for the Holiday

November 30, 2015
Here are a few interesting and fun Children’s book I came across that would be great for a gift idea for young readers. The first one is the Five-Minute Brain Workout for Kids by Kim Chamberlain and Illustrated by Jon Chamberlain.  You are thinking to yourself what is that book about? Well, it is filled with a lot of puzzles and games that will keep any child busy for a while. They will be concentrating trying to figure out the answers, so they will be using their brain quite a bit. This is a fun activity to do with friends and family. Readers will be learning about word structure, syllables, rhyming, definitions and much more.  This book is not only fun but also a learning tool to spell words, learn new words and more. This book is intended for ages 7 years and up.  I definitely recommend this book as a gift idea and retails for $14.99.

Second on my list would be the Daring Prince Dashing by Marilou Reeder and Illustrated by Karl West. This book is slightly similar to the tale of the Cinderella story yet different. Instead of being at the ball, the setting takes place at the royal ice cream social which the Daring Prince Dashing meets a charming young lady. However, instead of leaving glass slippers, she is leaving a mysterious stick. Now, I bet you want to know what will happen next right.  Well of course the prince will be looking for the girl that left her stick behind. Want to find out more, then you’ll have to get this book, and you and your special person can read it together.  This is geared towards the ages 3 through 6 years of age and retails for $16.99.

He just won’t admit to anyone that he can be afraid, so he has an answer for everything. This is a fun entertaining book for the little readers, and it will sure put a big smile on a child’s face.  This book is intended for readers between the ages of 3 through 6.

The forth one is Tough Cookie by Kate Louise Illustrated by Grace Sandford.  It’s a great story about a gingerbread man who was baked with eggs, cinnamon, flour, butter and sugar, but one important ingredient that wasn’t included was ginger. He couldn’t be sold as a gingerbread man because he wasn’t baked with ginger. So, he lived in the back of the bakery shop and caused a lot a trouble such as eating all the decorating candy, and making a mess by throwing sprinkles everywhere. The baker has had enough and said the gingerbread man must leave, but before he left the baker said he could help him to be nice. The two begin working together. In return the gingerbread man will learn a good lesson in the end, but you will have to read it for yourself to find out. It is  great book for any child to read, there is a moral to the story which kids should always be aware of.  It is for ages It retails for $16.99.

61608104485360LThe fifth book is The Runaway Santa: A Christmas Adventure Story by Anne Margaret Lewis and illustrated by Aaron Zenz.  The title says it all. There was a Santa that just wanted to leave the North Pole to go on an adventure.  He wanted to travel and live his life by visiting various destinations.  Of course, Mrs. Clause isn’t really sure what is going on with Santa, but  she will be there for him by preparing and getting him ready for his adventure. This is fun, loving story about living your dream and it retails for $15.99.

These are all great books to consider for your Holiday reading gifts.
