Spicy Curry Crab recipe

January 9, 2016

Now that the holidays are behind us and the kids are back in school, everything is finally starting to get back to normal again.  For a couple of days now, I really wanted a taste of my spicy curry crab so I finally decided to make it.

I am a big fan of seafood and one of my favorites has to be crab, especially spicy curry crab. I love to eat spicy food and even if the pepper is not in the dish, I will add some on my plate if I have too.  Here is how I make my Spicy Curry Crabs.

Supplies

  • Crabs
  • half an onion
  • 3 habanero peppers (optional if you do not want it spicy)
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • salt
  • 1 can of coconut milk
  • Curry powder (4 tablespoons)

Take your onion and cut if up in 4 sections and place it in a blender along with the peppers, and garlic. Then pour in a little bit of vegetable oil.  Blend it all together so it will have a nice smooth texture.

crab1I usually take the crabs and separate them into singles so the seasoning can simmer all within the crabs.  Once separated, slightly rinse the crabs and sprinkle a little salt over it.  Now, it is time to get my pot ready, pour in some vegetable oil and let it heat up.

I will now pour in the blended ingredients into the heated oil and stir so it won’t burn.  Gradually mix in the bouillon cube and stir it evenly.  Then pour in your curry powder and stir repeatedly so it won’t burn for a few seconds.  Reach for your coconut milk and pour it along with some dashes of salt. Get your crab and gently place them in the pot add some water, salt again if needed and lower the heat and cover the pot. Cook it for 25 minutes and your done.

crab2You can eat the crabs as they are, however I like preparing rice, spinach and potatoes to complete my Spicy Curry Crab dish.  I hope you have a taste for spicy food and would try this recipe out.  It is one of my favorite to make.  Enjoy and until next time!
