My Little Gardener!

I thought I would share this with all of you, that I have a little one at home that loves to plant just about anything. My daughter Sophia loves to find seeds and plant them in our flower bed. Well, I love to eat sunflower seeds, and one day Sophia saw me eating them and was asking me If she could use a few to plant in our flowerbed.  I agreed, and said she could have some. The package of sunflower seeds was on the counter along with another bag of green pepper seeds that I had cleaned out of one. So she took both bags and  went outside and threw the entire contents all throughout our flowerbeds.

Each day she would make sure to water her flowers, and after a month or so, we began to see big leaves in the back of our flowerbeds growing so high and that they looked like weeds to me. I started to pull them out. She was telling each day, momma do not pull out the sunflower plants. However, we had so many growing it was clashing with the rest of my garden. So I told her we had no choice but to pull some out. She agreed, but said, don’t pull the one close to the back door. I didn’t, but I was tempted though,because it was just a little too high for me. Now, at one point it just literally died, but she kept on watering each day, even though our sprinkler system was doing it for her.  She wanted to do it on her own.

A few weeks later another plant started to grow some leaves again. I said oh no, not another gigantic sunflower. However, it did not look like the other weeds in the back, because it had some little white flowers growing at the stems and I saw a green little vegetable. When my husband noticed it as well, we looked online to find out what it was, and believe it or not, it was a green pepper plant.  Yep, she didn’t know she planted green peppers, and now we have several growing in our flowerbed thanks to my daughter Sophia. How great is that. It looks really healthy indeed.

Now, she did not stop there. One day when my husband was cutting some cantaloupe, she saw all the seeds and immediately asked him, if she could plant those seeds too. He said most definitely, and they went outside and planted them in a pot. Now we are growing a nice little cantaloupe in my flower pot.  How great is that. I am so proud of her.  She is my Little Gardener, and there will definitely be some more planting to do in the future!
