What are you and your family doing this Mother’s Day? Are you still trying to decide where to go on Mother’s Day. Well, look no further because I am so excited to tell you all about my families culinary experience at the Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse in Houston.
We decided to go for a Sunday afternoon brunch with the kids. Our reservation was at noon, which is perfect since having the kids around I like to start the day early and still have time to do a few other things. Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse entrance was very inviting and there is even valet parking available if you don’t feel like parking your own car. That’s definitely a plus, because you may need it after all the delicious food.
As you walk in the restaurant you will see a nice cozy sitting area for you and your family to relax while waiting to be called to your table. You can even enjoy watching a humongous rack of ribs barbecuing upon entering the restaurant, or enjoy some cocktails at the well-stocked bar. We were greeted by the wonderful staff and directed to our table. A waiter informed us about their menu, market table, wine, cocktails and more.
We ordered some drinks, and I must say their lemonade is out of this world. It is definitely addictive. I tasted lemonade before, but the Fogo de Chão lemonade is pure, fresh, lemony, limey and milky as well. Both of my children tried it, and my son wanted one too. Next, it was time to try out their market table.
The market table/salad bar at Fogo de Chão had just about everything. You were literally surrounded by fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads. There were various selections of imported cheeses, cold smoked salmon, cured meats, chicken salad, potato salad and more.
My husband loved how you could pick out your own beefsteak tomato, cut it and sprinkle it with sea salt. I had a delicious salad with ranch dressing, fresh fruits such as berries, strawberries, cantaloupe, and watermelon. You name they had it.
My daughter on the other hand had to try out their yogurt parfait with fresh fruit, and by the looks of her face she loved it a lot. We all had a variety of their tasty market table items on our plate and believe me it was worth it, but my husband reminded us to save room for the delicious meat.
We were all excited to try out their Fogo de Chão Brazilian flavor steaks, chicken, pork and lamb. In order to do so, waiters come by your table when you flip a little green and red coaster to the green side. This allows the waiter to know that you are ready to receive some of their exquisite selections of fire roasted meats. Different waiters come by with spears loaded with meat from different cuts of sirloins, tenderloin, rib-eye and beef ribs.
Plus they had chicken wrapped in bacon, pork ribs, lamb chops and more. We were greeted by a waiter with some Filet Mignon, He asked how I would like it from medium rare to medium. I told him medium rare. So he then cuts off a piece and you take your tongs and place the meat on your plate. The moment I tasted the Filet Mignon, I felt a burst of juice flowing throughout my entire mouth. It was tender, easy to cut, juicy and was absolutely delicious.
We were informed that they only season their beef with sea salt and let the fire do the rest. My daughter had the Frango Chicken, which is tender, marinated chicken breast wrapped with bacon. She liked it lot because she kept asking for more. My husband tried all of the varieties of beef, chicken, pork and lamb.
His plate was full and the waiters were constantly at our table. He loved it so much he kept on eating. We were also presented with side dishes which included garlic mashed potatoes, delicious caramelized bananas, and polenta fries. Their was also some cheesy warm rolls that the kids just devoured.
We ordered desserts and then had a chance to tour the kitchen to see how Fogo de Chão fire roasts their meats. It was so exciting and it looked absolutely tasty.
On our way back to our table, we had a chance to admire the variety of wines they had.
The kids were about ready to eat their desserts and couldn’t wait for it to arrive at our table. When the desserts arrived their faces literally lit up. My daughter’s cheeks were hurting because she couldn’t stop smiling.
She ordered the Molten Chocolate Cake which was a rich chocolate cake, filled with melting fudge in the center, plus a huge scoop of divine vanilla ice-cream. My son had his favorite vanilla ice-cream. I had the Crème brûlée, and the moment I broke the sugar shell I took a scoop of it and couldn’t stop eating it.
The crunchy sugar and the nice soft texture of the custard melts in your mouth completely. My husband had the Chocolate Mouse Cake which I had to get a bite of too. I loved the alternating layers of white and dark chocolate mouse.
Overall our culinary experience at Fogo de Chão was great and we will definitely go again. What I enjoyed the most on this culinary experience at Fogo de Chão is how good the food was and the quality of service. It is definitely a family friendly environment and great fun for the kids to have the opportunity to try new and exciting food.
The staff was impeccable, they kept on coming to our table delivering the delicious food and asking us how everything was. To me that is definitely nice, and it makes everything enjoyable. If your looking for a great restaurant to spend Mother’s Day then you should definitely try out Fogo de Chão Steakhouse for a delicious brunch, lunch or dinner. Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 8th. The moment I saw your post in my email, i had to click it. Everything looks so amazing and delicious. If I may ask which location did you end up going? I have heard of it but never tried Brazilian food. By the looks of your pictures…I will definitely have to take my family. Great post!
We have been to the Indianapolis location and it was great! Their meat is really tender and my favorite would definitely the salad bar. I sat their and literally just at that the entire time. My husband on the other hand was just eating the meat and yeah he sure was a happy man with a big smile on his face. Your family looks great great. Love your picture with your daughter.
You are really making me hungry by looking at your post. The dessert is so yummy and I love your daughter expression on her face. Priceless! This gives me a idea to take my mom!
