Ok, are you ready for a yummy homemade Berry-licious Sorbet Treat for you and the family to enjoy. Well, then let me share this recipe with you all. It easy, and you can even let the kids help with this. Let’s make it a cooking party! That would really be fun!
Supplies you will need:
- 1lb of strawberries (or less it is up to you)
- 8oz blackberries
- 1/2 cup of superfine sugar
- 2/3 cup of heavy cream
First, hull out the strawberries and put them in a bowl with the blackberries. With the help of Sophia we washed all the berries thoroughly . Now put all the berries and super fine sugar in a pot along with a little bit of water. Cover and cook on the stove slowly over a medium heat for about 5-10 minutes.
Once the berries are soft, set aside to cool. Reach for your blender and pour in the cool berries and blend until smooth. Sophia sure loves this part. You have the option to strain the blended fruits for seeds, but I it them with the seeds, to give the sorbet a little crunch.
Get your ice cube tray or you can even use a cupcake tray like we did, because Sophia loved the shape of them, so we decided to use that instead. Pour the smooth fruit mixture in the tray and place in the freezer until it is solid.
Now, get your heavy cream and place in a bowl. Start to blend the cream until it is a little fluffy. Get your solid fruit berries and place them in the blender along with your cream. Blend until it is all smooth. You can eat it right there and then, but I wanted it to be a little more solid again. So scoop it out and place in a bowl and put it back in the freezer.
Once the sorbet is all solid again, it is ready to be served to your family. Voila. You have made yourself a yummy homemade Berry-licious Sorbet treat. Enjoy this recipe!
Sincerely,
