Christmas Craft for the Kids

December 18, 2015

As most of you know, I love doing craft with my kids and since the holidays are here, I thought why not make some fun Christmas crafts for the kids.  My son loves to glue just about everything and I always need to keep an eye on him at all times.

DSC_0026We decided to start on our Santa craft.  I always have quite a few materials at hand so I rarely need to pick anything up from the store.  Here are the supplies I used to make our very own Santa Clause Craft:

  • Construction paper (red, green, light brown, white, yellow, black)
  • Glue stick or liquid glue (I ended up using liquid glue since I ran out of the glue stick, I do prefer glue stick though, it is less mess)
  • Scissors
  • Tape

DSC_0033So, I basically use the light brown paper for the face and cut an oval shape.  Next, I started to cut out Santa’s hair and beard, black dotted eyes, gloves, shirt, boots and belt.  My son had fun cutting construction paper and he loved doing that.  So, we ended up putting all the pieces together and it was all done.  Finally it was time to hang it in the room.

DSC_0268We also made a Christmas tree and used pretty much the same materials: construction paper, cotton balls, decorative strings, plus we cut out some circles to use as our very own ornaments.

DSC_0271 I cut out the green construction paper into a triangle shape and started stacking them on top of one another to look like a tree shape.  So far so good. Now it was time for my little buddy to decorate the tree with his ornaments, and place the star on top of the tree.  He sure had fun with the glue though.

I hope you enjoyed our Christmas craft until next time.  Happy Holidays!

Sincerely,

I usually watch my neighbors kids and always try to find new craft activities to do them. I will save this for next year. Thanks for giving me an idea to keep the kids busy. He looks so happy!
