Banana Nibblers

June 24, 2011

It’s been quite a while since we did our last cooking video, so I decided to make another one.  This time around it will be a great little snack for any occasion. My daughter and I love snacking on fruit. There really is nothing more refreshing and sweet. She also loves chocolate too. So I thought, why not combine the too and give her a special little treat.

This little snack that I will be showing you all is called Banana Nibblers. I totally love it because it is quick and easy to make.  Here are the supplies you will need:

  • 1-2 bananas
  • 4 oz chocolate
  • Shredded coconut
  • Sprinkles
  • Straws

NOTE: when using sharp utensils when children are around, make sure you keep an eye on them. Cooking is fun, but being save is very important as well.

First, put a bowl over a pan of simmering water and melt the chocolate. Make sure you keep stirring it to give it that smooth texture. Then we will peel the bananas and slice them into chucks.

Second, take your pieces of bananas and push a straw through each piece. Then gently drizzle the smooth melted chocolate over the bananas so they are completely covered.

Now we are ready to roll the chocolate covered banana in the shredded coconut or sprinkles. This was Sophia’s favorite part. Can’t you tell LOL. Place in the refrigerator for the chocolate to harden or you can eat them right away.

This is such a fun little cooking project that is great for children. I know Sophia really had fun with this recipe. So go on and enjoy making some Banana Nibblers with your family.

Until next time and enjoy!

Sincerely,
