One of my favorite moments during the holidays is decorating the tree. I love seeing all the kids excited because they know that when the Christmas tree is up, then the winter vacation and Santa is near. We all work together to get the ornaments, lights, and ribbons out of the boxes. I looked at all our decorations to see how I will decorate the tree this time. I decided to go with red and gold look with our pre-lit Christmas tree.
The kids and I had fun fluffing the tree, and sorting out the ornaments and ribbons. I laced the entire tree with a beautiful bright red ribbon from top to bottom. My daughter suggested to make some bows with the ribbons and decorate the tree with them. I thought it was great idea since I have lots of ribbons on hand and can definitely use them. We both started to make bows out of gold and red wire ribbons. The ribbons are evenly placed in a diamond shape throughout the Christmas tree. So far so good.
I love pine cones, they make all Christmas decor look refreshing, warm and definitely beautiful. One of my favorite things I used to do during the summer time is whenever I go for walk through the neighborhood or a park, I look out for pine cones. So, my son, daughter and I pick pine cones up and fill a sack full of them. Yes, I still occasionally pick some up from the store, but I pick them up whenever I see a few in my neighborhood. I placed them in various parts through the tree and it looked fantastic.
Now, it was time to hang the ornaments. A couple of years ago, I received some beautiful ornaments from Gigi and I just keep on hanging on to them each year. These are beautiful glittering gingerbread boys, gingerbread girls, gingerbread houses, gingerbread angels and a Santa. The moment you see them you will just love them, and if you didn’t’t know you might even want to take a bite because they look so yummy.
All the ornaments were evenly placed throughout the tree and they looked so beautiful against the multi-color lights. We ended placing some golden ornaments as well and then it was finished.
Finally, it was time to make the big bow to place on top of the tree. I ended up adding ribbons of red and gold. I securely tightened it up with some craft wiring and fluffed out the bow. I took other ribbons and cut them the same size and attached them to the bottom of the bow. It was placed right on top of the tree to drape down smoothly against the Christmas Tree.
We turned off all the lights in the house and turned on the multi-color Christmas Tree lights. It was so beautiful and as you can see it lit up the entire room. The tree looked great and the kids loved it. I took various pictures with the lights on and with lights off, but my favorite pictures would be the ones with the light off. With it’s antique glow, I felt a warm, cozy feeling flowing through my body. A feeling of happiness and to see my family smile makes me even more joyous.
I hope your experiencing the same joy of happiness of decorating your home, tree and yard as much as I do. Have a wonderful time decorating your Christmas Tree and Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
I do love decorating the Christmas tree with the kids. We actually put our tree up in close to the end of October. This way we enjoy it for a while. Your tree is beautiful. It’s lit up pretty nicely.
I like how you like to decorate for Christmas early. I might have to do that as well.
I love to look for unique ornaments and always to get a few from each place I visited or traveled. This brings up a great conversation starter when I have family and friends over. Love the Christmas Tree. I have a hard time making bows, but you did a great job with yours.
I love your ornaments, they are really beautiful. The angel is absolutely gorgeous.
I used to put a star on top of the tree, but started about 2 years ago placing a bow jut like yours on top. I like the bows you added to the tree, it stands out. Beautiful!
